The original Truth BBQ is located off 290, on the west side of Brenham. I went on a Saturday, arriving around 12:15. The wait was probably 30 minutes long – very reasonable for a Texas BBQ joint. And, to make things even better, there’s a Yeti full of free Lone Star while you wait in line! That’s Texas for ya.

The Texas Trinity was the perfect amount of food for 5 people. 1 lb sausage, 1 lb pork ribs, 1 lb brisket. For sides, the corn soufflé was a crowd pleaser. And while the slices of cake are massive, you should definitely save some room to share a slice with your group.

While you’re in the area, take a walk around Brenham’s downtown area. For shopping, we LOVED Ballad of the Birddog. Think: leather goods, dogs laid out on the couch, free coffee, hip ways to hang succulents, and new stickers for your Nalgene.
